Bamboo • It’s the fast-growing plant that designers can’t get enough of. Now recognised for so much more than just its tensile strength (it has been used for hundreds of years as a construction material), bamboo is also favoured for its aesthetic. As is the case with many recent material trends, bamboo’s resurgence has its roots in consumers’ post-pandemic craving for handcrafted objects. Conveniently, it is also supple enough to be woven into trays, light enough to be used as a wallcovering and durable enough for outdoor furniture.
